Foliar feeding is a technique of feeding plants by applying liquid fertilizer directly to their leaves. You might be asking, how is that possible?  Isn’t that what soil, fertilizer, and hydroponic nutrient solutions are for? A plant can absorb nutrients through it’s leaves at a quicker rate than it can through it’s roots.  Nutrients pass through the stomata of the leaves.  Stomata are pores on leaves that allow plants to “breathe.” The nutrients provided through foliar spray will travel through the entire plant, all they way to the roots.  Like carbohydrates produced through photosynthesis, nutrients from foliar spray will also disperse through the rest of the plant.  In fact, up to 90% of a foliar-fed solution can be found in the roots of a plant within 1-hour of application

Avoid overwatering plants

Irrigation has a major effect on the development of roots. When a plant receives water too often it becomes lazy. Therefore, because of this you should never water a plant while the soil is still too wet. Additionally, roots in moist soil are more susceptible to destructive fungi. These can spread rapidly in a moist environment. This can lead to root rot. If this happens, the lowest leaves will begin to wilt and the roots will turn brown. The growth of the plant also stagnates. Avoid overwatering and use Hy-Pro spraymix to balance humidity.
